Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast has a wide range of options open to anglers travelling here to fish and enjoy the diversity of this region from Tuna, Trevally in the salt to Bass, Barra and Saratoga in the protected inland waters in fresh water .
Here’s some of the action from the start of Autumn.
Mark and his lovely wife Steph organised me to pick them up near Wathumba Creek again for some tuna chasing

Withing minutes of being picked up they were into the Long Tail Tuna

Mark enjoyed the surface fishing for the Tuna, this one on a Pro Rigging Kit Popper I had on the market along with other lures way back in the early 90’s.

A good Mac Tuna on the Lively Lures Skipping popper

Steph landed the fish of the day this brute of a Mac Tuna that gave her a real battle before it was landed for a quick pic and released.
Arthur has fished with me for over a decade and he’s not really into chasing tuna so I took him out to do some Micro Jigging and he landed and lost some very nice fish .

First drop for the morning with Micro Jig

The day got better with some Big Diamond Trevally on Jigs and plastics

They like Ecooda shrimps as well
Shaun and his wife Angela hired a cat for a getaway and arranged for me to pick up Shaun and take him to do some fly fishing for tuna and other species

A hookup on the flat to a good Queenfish sight casting to a bait ball but the hook fell out and it won it’s freedom
The fresh water fishing has continued to produce some nice Barramundi on a variety of methods use at the right times

Lively Lures owner and manufacturer Alan with a nice 89 cm Fresh water barra caught on a 100 mm Arafura Barra

The 6th Sense Swimbaits have also been producing a lot of fish on my boat when fished around the weed beds.

Another Lenthalls Dam Barra falls to the Ringo Shad swimbait
I’m currently waiting on a delivery of these great fish producing swim baits and will have them available for purchase,if your interested in buying some contact me via email or ph and I can arrange to have them posted out to you.
The Barra fishing slows in winter but are still catchable if you want to get connected to some on fly or lures ,I’ll be doing a lot more Barra charters in spring and through summer in a variety of locations around the Fraser Coast when the water warms again and the barra become more active.
